Hello Julian, I understand your concern about the seal of the lower cylinders on vintage Lamborghini V12 blocks.  I had that same concern, and decided to apply a thin coat of sealant around the topmost pressure fit contact surface of each cylinder liner. After looking at numerous types of sealers, I chose Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket sealant liquid, item 80017.  According to the manufacturer, this is pressure resistant to fuel, oil and grease up to 400F/204C, and resists hot and cold water, anti-freeze, glycerine and other fluids.  I had my block and cylinder liners exceptionally clean, then heated the block and cooled the liners per the Lamborghini books.  I pulled each liner out of the freezer, removed the vaccuum seal bags, quickly applied the sealer with the included brush, and pushed the liners into the block, and held them down for about a minute to ensure they stayed all the way down. After installing all 12, I went back with a tool (per the manual) to press down on the liners to make sure they were fully seated. I don't know if this sealer was actually needed, but it makes me feel better knowing that it is there in my engine.  You can see some pictures at http://www.miuressence.com/scottsmiura.aspx   Scott Reid







1) Early Miura  have 10mm head studs and cap nuts. Later model have 11mm.
2) Lower pan 01802266 was shallow on early models and 12mm deeper for late models, same part number. pan dimension is approx 365 x 325. longer studs required due to redesign of bosses at each stud. Either style pan is easily distinquished from external inspection. increased oil capacity is 1.4 liters.
3) 6mm studs (30, 41) are not shown in the right locations on this parts exploded view. the length is the concern. they should be flipped.
